We are thrilled to announce that the November 7th ballot measure has passed by near 70%! In 2018, the new Moniteau County Library will be operating on private donations and support from the Elia Wood Paegelow Foundation, since tax receipts will not be received until December 2018.
However, there are some expanded services that will be provided, such as Reciprocal Borrowing Agreements with surrounding area library systems, and a Summer Reading Program taken to rural schools in the county, if we are awarded a Summer Reading Program Grant from the Missouri State Library. The courier service will be reinstated for interlibrary loan requests beginning December 1.
We look forward to implementing the expanded services that have been featured in the campaign in 2019 after the receipt of tax funds.
We want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all those on the campaign committee who worked tirelessly on this ballot issue. If you voted Yes and Yes to establish a library district and secure public funding for library services, we thank you for your support. If you voted No, we invite you to visit the library to discover it's value to you and all Moniteau County residents.
